E46 purple tag rack swap into E30

i recently acquired a purple tag e46 rack to do the swap into my E30 airbag car. But trying to find information on what does and doesn't need to be cut,swapped,removed is very conflicting depending on when posts you read. If anyone has done this swap (E46 purple rack into E30 airbag car) and could shine some light it would be greatly appreciated. IE: do you have to swap the rag joint? e46 inners/e36 outers? and does the firewall need to be cut?
