E36M radiator in early model M20

I recently tried something pretty stupid. The prices and availability for late model cooling components was giving me a nightmare. I had a s52 radiator and hoses lying around so I decided to test fit in my 87’ with the early style cooling system. Radiator fits no problem, just needed to buy a top bracket. I then was able to use a combination of the m20 cooling hoses and the s52 hoses to plumb the radiator to my system. It is not an elegant solution and I do not intend to keep it this way. I am hunting for the late model timing covers and coolant crossover tube still, but not in a big rush to overpay. Dm me if you have a set plz! Fits with no issues ofc. But I added the fan shroud back after this photo. Second photo shows I used a 1.25” barbed hose joiner to connect the m20 and s52 hoses. I have it fastened in place but it does not interfere with belts of E-fan. I am still trying to get my E-fan to trigger at the right temp correctly too :/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
