M50 Camshaft Sensor with Megasquirt MS3X (Pullup resistor? Internal jumpers?)

    Hey guys.

Swapped a m52b28 from a 528i into my 318i E36 and went with a MS3X for my ECU as the stock ecu had some issues.

I've got every sensor working and everything else wired up but I'm having issues with cam sensor.
I swapped the m52 cam sensor out with an m50 cam sensor as per recommendation. The sensor has 3 wires: Red, Yellow, Black. I'm running 12v fused to Red, Yellow to Cam input and Black to Sensor Ground.

I'm not getting any cam signal during cranking so I tried adjusting the R32 and R11 pot as per manual (Remove Js7, adjust, apparently put back Js7 according to Pazi88)
I'm seeing forums about requiring a pull up resistor but I'm not sure if this is necessary and where to install it. The sensor is an OEM replacement: bremi 60156

    Thanks!

From my build thread. Hope this helps.

It took some testing to find that I needed an M50 camshaft sensor using a 1K pullup resistor to +5v.
Also needed the DIYAutotune Hall Effect crankshaft sensor with pullup resistor to +12v. Key point here was that this needed to be mounted to the front (OBD1) crank sensor location. I could not get it to read correctly with the rear sensor location in the block.

Are you sure that crank signal input needs a pull up reaistor to +12?🤔

Hall crank sonsors trigger input in stock ecu and most of standalones is PWM 5V.
