Injector size selection with war chip?

    Injector size selection with war chip?

    I cant remember if i went through this step in the setup wizard, since then i upgraded injectors from 14 to 17.5 on the car. Is there any where in the miller software i should indicate that my injectors are 17.5lbs now or just play with the tables?
    Im hopefuly going to dyno on monday but need to know this before...

    I think it's 30lb max for turbo motor with war chip ..

    it it's N/A then I don't know

      ^^ Habibna.. That was not my question! I need to know if there is anywhere in the software i should choose that my injectors are 17.5lbs. If so, where? If not, what should i do? Change the values in the tables?

            My understanding is that you just reduce your fuel numbers down by the % injector increase. So for instance if going from 19 lb. injectors to 24's you would reduce fuel numbers in the table by about 21%.

              So you mean, 24-19=5\24=0.208? Thats how you calculated?

              The base tunes thy i downloaded with the setup wizard were
              14lbs and 19lbs.
              The fuel tables for the 14lbs read 130
              And the ones for 19lbs read 128
              That makes it only about 1.5% decrease.

              If i work with what you said
              Id look like this, 17.5-14=3.5/17.5=0.2
              Which means that i have to lower the values from 130 to 104. It seems like a lot..

                Not familiar with the war chip and its tuning, however you may or may not need to scale.

                Think about it like this. A programmer controls how long an injector stays open. Since the pressure is constant, and the injector flow is constant that means that larger injectors deliver more fuel at a stock map. I would lower the low load maps a touch, and bump up the WOT map a bit to take advantage of the injectors. But for such small changes 14#to 17# its not a huge difference. You can also bump the timing a bit at WOT for some more power, but that is best left to the tuner.

                  I will report back with dyno graphs.. Good or bad for reference... And if the tuner is ok with it i will share the mpc for people with similar setups.. Maybe some donations.. Lol

                    but things like AE and injector constants are not going to be the same between two injector sizes, and not neccesarily scale. not that anyone swapping injectors cares about linear fuel flow related to response time and commanded injector PW. :p

                    a better ECU solution would have a simple variable that you'd change for the injector size, and also variables to control it's response based on voltage, temperature, pressure, etc. That's probably not simple on Motronic which is why Miller doesn't "expose" it.

                    Otherwise, everything gets thrown off; warmup curves, AE curves, decel curves, priming/cranking pulse, etc etc. And injector fuel flow becomes non-linear relative to commanded PW. Not good..
