No rpm signal, no data on the tooth log ? What do I test

SOLVED: Bad cps wire, plugged in to the wrong connector. Kiddies stumbling across this "thread", be sure to pull the plugs, unplug c191, and run the starter for proper diagnosis. Also check resistance across pins 47 and 48 on motronic harness.

    Quick back story:
-Car was running good, started misfiring at higher rpms
-Then started misfiring at all rpms
-Then no start (and no tooth data any more)

    Effort:
I replaced my cps with a newer one, which I tested with a nice fluke multimeter and got a good reading of 550 ohms across pins 1 and 2. Popped it in, still no rpm signal/tooth log on tunerstudio.

The car did start after I gave it a lot of fuel, but even when running, the rpm on tunerstudio stayed at 0.

    Question:
What are some other things I can test/adjust? I am okay with diagnosing but I'm wondering what I should be trying, and has anyone had a similar issue? Did the new cps cause a different reading that needs to be accounted for somewhere? Are there settings in ts I should be checking?

    Thanks!

Came up with a list after vast searching for tests to perform to see whats wrong with the Crank Position Sensor.

    CPS Test:
-check inline fuse (on small cable coming off battery positive lead)
. . . ->>>might need to just run a wire to bypass this fuse
    . . . ->>>http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/SAM_0718.jpg
-check all relays (in fuse box, and main fuses)
-make sure toothed wheel is clean
-see if resistance (betw pins 1 and 2) changes when a metal is passed in front of sensor (harness side)
. . . ->>>use bentley manual to determine steps to test this sensor
-check for a short in either pin 1 or 2 (continuity between ground and pin, and between each of the 3 pins)
-pin 3 is ground for wire shielding, can test this too
-check to see with car on if I’m getting +5v at either pin 1 or 2 (harness side)

Am I missing anything here? I'm coming up with this list at work so I can go home and just do everything I need to do with a plan, as I have limited time to work on my car every day after work, and the goal is to get this thing running soon as I might be getting rid of the DD soon
