SOLVED: Bad cps wire, plugged in to the wrong connector. Kiddies stumbling across this "thread", be sure to pull the plugs, unplug c191, and run the starter for proper diagnosis. Also check resistance across pins 47 and 48 on motronic harness.
Quick back story:
-Car was running good, started misfiring at higher rpms
-Then started misfiring at all rpms
-Then no start (and no tooth data any more)
Effort:
I replaced my cps with a newer one, which I tested with a nice fluke multimeter and got a good reading of 550 ohms across pins 1 and 2. Popped it in, still no rpm signal/tooth log on tunerstudio.
The car did start after I gave it a lot of fuel, but even when running, the rpm on tunerstudio stayed at 0.
Question:
What are some other things I can test/adjust? I am okay with diagnosing but I'm wondering what I should be trying, and has anyone had a similar issue? Did the new cps cause a different reading that needs to be accounted for somewhere? Are there settings in ts I should be checking?
Thanks!
