    Vi-pec standalone plug-in ECU for 24v motors

Anyone here familiar with Vi-pec's standalone ECU's? They make a special plug in one that has the 55 pin connector and fits in the standard ECU box (with a hole drilled for MAP sensor and for PC interface)
Just wanted to know if anyone out there has any experience with it.
I have an OBD 1 converted blueprinted S52 swap looking for a couple more horsies.
    Thanks!

Vi-PEC systems are really nice! If I was starting all over I would definitely get a Vi-PEC system. Its leauges ahead of Megasquirt and the VEMS system I have. Of course it costs more than those, but its an outstanding product!

Since you mentioned it I've been thinking long and hard about going Vi-PEC in the next year or so... You'll have more than enough power for this weekend though!

I've tuned quite a few ViPec systems. Always good results, but, most importantly, easy to use. :D

Whats the price on the PnP unit? Seems like a good option to go full standalone.

Nothing is made to work with the NV engines because they suck :). You can fit a vanos unit in the NV head and use the wiring and electronics from the vanos engine. You will also need the toothed wheel from a vanos engine if you want to use someone elses configuration file.

If for some reason you want to use the non vanos engine, just use a regular ViPec unit and make your own harness. Its not that hard.

                      Wow, that took a while.
                      Well, she's in and running!
                      Dyno scheduled for May 1st.
Will update with video and maybe some tune info then...
In the meantime, I tease you with this:

                        Vi-pec standalone plug-in ECU for 24v motors

                        Holy crap!
It's crazy what you can do with this thing!
Aside from picking up 20 hp and 25 tq.
The responsiveness, sound, and general feel of the motor now is completely different.

For reference, a stock E46 M3 on this same dyno one week prior to me, put down 10 more hp than I did. S54=330 at the crank... ;-)

Even sitting in the parking lot and dabbing the throttle it revs like a dirt bike now. Instantly snaps!

Being able to calibrate the ecu for actual injector dead time, being able to adjust your injector pulse width, having many many more triggers, alarms, and fuel/ign tables, messing with things like overrun fuel cut, utilizing a flex fuel sensor, sequential fuel/ign. I don't think many people can truly appreciate or understand just how powerful a proper standalone setup is.

O ya, and for those thinking that your #24 injectors are "big" I'm using #30 injectors and they are at just over 80% duty cycle!

And lastly, for reasons unknown to me, vanos is currently not working... (Mechanical problem, not ecu)

Sorry, we couldn’t find that page

The load basing of the base tune is actually designed to be used with a boosted setup.

PM me if you have any more in-depth questions.
