    Trying to start VEMS

    Hello,

I’ve got an m52b28 swapped e30 and am on a very tight timeline (just the weekend) and I’ve been trying to connect to my VEMS ecu with a serial connector the issues are as follows:

    1. Bottom right corner of the screen says cannot open port.

    2. When I try to connect to the ecu with ignition on it says cannot find ecu.

Ive already checked and the ecu connector has ground, 12v, and an ignition pin. I tried using a straight serial cable to a computer running windows xp and three Computers using windows 10 with a usb to serial adapter.

    thanks,
    max
