    Purchased a Stebro Exhaust

So I have been looking for a new exhaust for a while now and finally decided to go with a Stebro since it was an excellent deal purchased straight from the company located about 4 hours away. I tried searching around for video clips and opinions on the Stebro but could not find too much so I was not really certain on what to expect. So I am doing this review for those who may think of getting a Stebro exhaust since there are not to many reviews out there. (On the E30 325is)

First off is communication. The communication changed pretty drastically throughout my deal with Stebro. At first, it was EXCELLENT, communication was quick clear and confident (They even called me to confirm everything before paying). After the payment was sent, communication started to get tough, calls were being ignored, and emails took dayss to be returned. I wondered how it may have changed so drastically. I was getting run arounds left and right with tracking numbers and shipping dates getting all mixed up. The shipping company they use seem to be more organized than Stebro themselves...Anywho, eventually it came in after awhile.. so I was really happy (Note: Exhaust was "stated" to be in stock and ready to ship right away). If the exhaust was needed to be made then it would have been much more convenient to just tell me!!

The deal was excellent because 3 were purchased at the same time for two buddies of mine. One mistake was that the M42 318 exhaust came with the wrong tip, it was supposed to be a double wall round tip but ended up being a single wall tip. I thought it would have been a big deal but my buddy just got over it and said who caress. I got the single walled tips because I wanted it to look stock as possible and it pretty much does. One nice thing I should mention is that every exhaust comes with the choice of OEM, Sport or Race sound which is pretty cool. I just got sport.

One positive aspect that I was surprised about was the weight. It was EXTREMELY light, I did not get a chance to weigh it but I did have to carry my old one and it was much much heavier. The welds seem to be very good, clean and solid. Everything stainless so it should last pretty long.

Another positive detail I liked was that they weld on their own hooks to hook up to the rubber hangers. (Eliminates buying new straps since I needed new ones, so I saved more money). Installation was a breeze. Bolt up perfect without an issue, everything was fabricated perfectly on the dot. Lines up straight and the tips are perfectly straight too.

There is one thing I did not like and that is the exhaust is not mandrel bent, so in the bends the pipes are "squished". Does it actually reduce a noticeable amount of air flow? I have no idea...

So that is my review on the Stebro exhaust and my experience with them. The sound is amazing and could not have asked for anything better!! I would strongly recommend them if the price is right (Retail is pretty expensive...) Besides that, yes I love it! No I would never change it! I can go on but it will be way to long.

Enough talk, here is a short vid. Sorry about not having any pics because both my cameras are broken. I was lucky enough to have a buddy take a short vid with this camera and some photos that he will send me later on and I will post them if anyone is interested. I tried to get a drive by vid with my buddy (theox69) but as soon as we set up the tri-pod the cops pulled up and said to leave LoL! So will try a drive by another time..

Let me know what you think.

Here's pics of from that day (With Theox69)

I bought a Stebro exhaust for my E34 M5, got a run around from Dan there for over 7 months. Ripped me off $1600 finally got my money back after a huge headache and credit card dispute. If anybody is thinking of dealing with this company, do your research, I did after the fact and found out I wasn't the only one that got screwed.

The sad thing is, they do have a great product, just be prepared to wait a year (literally) and get the run around and constant lies!!

I never ended up getting the product in the end. He promised me everytime I called, it is getting sent out tomorrow. Did that for about 12 weeks in a row!

Glad to hear you got the product, I do wish I had one, but looks like Supersprint is my only option now.

Oh sorry I mis-understood. After 12 months he finally realized it was time for a refund? Dan surprised me because honestly like I said above before I paid communication was excellent. Once the order was placed forget it, it was like he dissapeared I even offered to drive down myself because I was getting so annoyed. As great as a product can be, it is not much when there is no customer service to back it up. A driving instructor I had even told me to "be-careful". I would say, unless your local and can pick it up then do it right away...

Yeah, sounds awesome, mine did too. I bought mine second hand as mentioned to you on Tech but it was still a nice piece. Stebro in Canada is a distributer not the manufacturer. Shame you both had too many issues.

Not Mandrell bent? That's new they used to be and full sized under the subframe as well.

Are you sure its only a distributer? Im not sure anywase...

Ya it is not madrel bent and it is pressed under the subframe so there seems to be a lot of restricition going on there. There was a used one for sale on tech awhile back for $450 shipped which is excellent!
