    Supersprint position...

Is anyone else who has an Supersprint exhaust on a 318is, or any other car, having issues with the pipe hitting the exhaust hole on the drivers side? Mine seems to be hitting it, so I tightened it up, but still hits the side when I'm cornering. Any ideas?

Mine fits perfect, maybe you're missing a hanger or it needs adjusting. Something is wrong cause mine only moves 1/2 inch or less. Click on the links to see my pics, for some reason the [img] isn't working.

mine fits perfectly too, it's probably just mounted wrong. you don't pay $500-$700 for a muffler that doesn't fit..

Mike, mine definitely sits lower too. Guess I'll just have to work at it.

my muffler is straight, but the tips look crooked, its really wierd, its in right, but still looks off....

its soooo fucking quiet, i love it though, its a nice change after my old LOUD exhaust. I hope it will break in a little though and get a little bit louder.

Dont forget, he has a 318is with single tip outlet so his outlet hole is a lot smaller than those on 325s. I installed another hanger on it when I put it back on, but I only got it to move over another 1/2 or 3/4 of an inch. Apparantly it may have moved back, or just swings a lot more.

It is a pretty big tip though. I would be tempted to widen the outlet a bit.. but that is just me. It should be fitting though

What little lip you got on the back of your car there, Dan?

And, aren't these supposed to come out straight? Looks a little off, doesn't it?

I think I am going to start looking at Supersprint. I have had enough of the "loud" exhaust. It would be nice to be quite again.

it's in wrong somehow dan, because I have the exact same muffler and it's centered in the muffler opening. I've also taken it off and put it back on a couple times.

and yes they do sound great, I got sick of loud exhaust after driving loud ass V8 for 5 years.

edit: actually dan, I think it's on fine, but your ghetto diffuser makes it look offset. ;)

I bought the rubber ring from BMW (for like a $5.50 ripoff) for the center mount. It has no problems now. I was using a donut beforehand since the old rubber ring (which is more efficient) was ripped during removal when we did the suspension...

Cool man, that was it? Im sorry I broke that one. The old one was falling apart. It probably wouldnt have worked if we got it on.

I just took the ole flowmaster off in favor of a thursh turbo muffler (cheap) and the car sounds much better. Was nice before, but toooo loud.
