Heh, I might consider that if I had not already spent $100 on the cat ;) But it begs the question, if one pipe is superior why would BMW use two pipes for almost 25 years?

dynomax is good, so is borla. the stock muffler is pretty heavy. whats the obsession with dual pipes though? why not single 2.5", cat, and a muffler? lighter and same/better flow.

I feel like the preacher of single pipe exhaust or something. lol. leave that shit for guys with V8's ;)
    I looked all over Borla's website and couldn't find a 2-in 2-out muffler.

The reason I'm sticking with 2 pipes is that the headers come with two downpipes and an x-pipe already, so I bought a 2-in 2-out cat to mate with those. I didn't really see the purpose of running a single pipe just from the cat to the muffler.

Here is my setup. 327i, ebay headers, Magnaflow 94008 2-in 2-out cat.

I was planning on getting a Brullen muffler until I recently found out they are discontinued so now I'm on the hunt again.

Almost everyone on this forum says that magnaflow mufflers are too loud, raspy, poor quality, etc. so magnaflow is out. I don't want to spend more than $300. My biggest concern is that it is not too loud or raspy.

So I was thinking either going with the stock muffler or a dynomax. Would a stock muffler negate any benefits of the headers? Almost every thread on here referring to dynomax is on an m42 so I can't really make a judgement there. The one thread I found for an M20 it was 1-in 1-out.

    Thanks guys
Working...
