    Types of e30 m20(6cyl) headers.

So, I've been doing some research and I'm pretty convinced eBay headers are crap, but i hear bad about all headers. IE has best reputation I guess. Other than headers from TMS/IE. What is out there that is good quality and where can I get it. They can be shorties or long tubes as long as they work on the m20b27 or m20b25. Also, if you have headers, what do you have, where i can find em and your thoughts about them.

I had a bad experience with a set of ebay headers I purchased, returned them for full refund and bought IE shorties, been happy ever since.
The ebay ones wouldn't fit on the studs of the block, the spacing of the runners was all wrong. Others have had good results though so I don't know if mine were from a bad batch or what.

that's because 95% of the headers sold for M20s are useless.

there are two types of IE headers - shorties (MSDS style), and the same ones that you can buy on ebay for $150. Neither are worth crap.

shorty headers are totally worthless. the 24v guys buy them all the time too. The only benefit over stock manifolds is weight.

bavauto, supersprint, stahl, BTB, and RD are the best headers, but none of them are cheap either..

So ebay and IE headers are crap? Might as well just use stock manifolds? Until I can afford the expensive ones? Do they have gains?

Yeah like $900 for a gain of maybe 10 whp in certain spots in the rev band and some torque.

a 2.9 for $1200? lol. good luck with that. a 900 turbo is going to last about 6 months. engine management would cost more than half that. Hell a wideband alone is $200 for the cheapest units.
