fitment of ebay headers

Is this one of those mods where you finish it and are like "I should have just kept the stock setup" or was it worthwhile. I can't justify the insane cost of "real" headers. I definitely want an X-pipe since it seems beneficial with how the firing order/collectors are setup.

i would never in 100 years do it again. if you can't afford the real thing, don't cheap out.


now that it's done i appreciate them, but it was NEVER worth the insane amount of trouble they were to work properly.

I bought the best header I could get for my s14 240sx ( $500 or so DC sports 4-2-1 header) and even that was a PITA (EGR tube didnt match up right, broke an exhaust stud) The intake+velocity stack I installed on it did so much more for performance than the header ever did. I never hear too many reviews about the ebay headers so I appreciate the feedback.

long story short, the flanges aren't really flat (i was lucky that mine was a 'better' set that actually fit, and the downpipes collide into each other when installed. also, the motor mount shield needs to be scrapped, and oil filter housing may need to be flipped. i opted to custom exhaust, because the headers fit so poorly, and even worse with the terrible xpipe (too long and reaches past the cat). once installed i can NEVER take them off as a 6 flange y-unit because the flanges don't line up and will only fit in a 3+3 configuration, so to play with the head i have to chop my custom exhaust apart and re-weld it.
