    Do I need o2 sesonsor?

    At exhaust shop now.

Running eBay headers to straight pipes. No room for sensor.
I have miller MAF and chip to run MAF. Do I need the sensor? Will it b ok without?

car runs. check engine light is on.
gonna make the o2 sensor wires longer then have a bung put in my X pipe.

It runs in closed loop mode without the o2 sensor, so yes you need it.

            you mean open loop ;)

you can drive to the exhaust shop without an O2 sensor. just go easy on it.

you can't run a wideband sensor into a stock ECU, either..

I'd be looking for C8H18 sensor if I were you.

got it hooked back up. it was running really rich, turning my headers a blue tint.
that is starting to go away.
better gas milleage with it in too lol.
                thanks guys.

How would you make the sensor wires longer, what type of wire can I use? I been driving without a sensor for some time now, my odometer is broken and I don't use car as daily so I have no idea if I'm using more gas but it does smell much richer. Plus I need to pass smog test and they won't let me test with check engine light on. Anyone please help, I need my car ready for the leavenworth drive and e30 picnic! Thanks!

i ended up just moving my bung for the o2 sensor. easier that way.

the o2 sensor only had like 3 or 4 wires. what you would do is remove some heat wrap close to the femal plug, cut the wires, add more wire in and solder and heat shrink over that. then re-wrap the wires in heat wrap.

they are color'd wires so it should be pretty easy.

the O2 sensor wires are made of stainless steel.. you can't solder them.

then use the electrical caps and electrical tape. or terminal connectors.

So the extra wiring I get must be stainless steel wiring, some guy told me I could use any wiring as long as its same gauge. I'll use wire nuts, electrical tape and heat wrapping to connect everything.
