    ANSA exhaust

I'm contemplating getting an ansa muffler for my car soon for several reasons:
    1) I need a new muffler (mine is like 3 years old and rattling a ton)
    2) I don't care about performance systems on my M10
    3) They're like $40 more than an OE replacement right now

Does anybody have any soundclips from them?

I don't have a clip, but genrally they are rather quiet with a more deep tone, somewhat supersprint-ish. They are notorious for rusting away very quickly though.

        ANSA

I installed a new ANSA in my car. The muffler is still breaking in so it is getting progressivley deeper in tone. I think it sounds great and is a touch throatier than stock.

The ANSA muffler on my car has rusted very quickly. Its only been on there about 4 years.

My ANSA has been on about 3 years. Still looks like it did when it showed up on my porch - rust free.

But, my car is garaged all winter.

Well 4 years is longer than my OEM one has lasted.

Planning to get one after my next paycheck as bavauto has them on sale until the end of the month.

I got the ANSA exhaust but I wanted something cheap that was made for my car. I wont keep the exhaust for even two years so its no big deal, I think that I am going to do the M50 swap later so then I will run a true dual 2 1/4 inch. Sound wise I couldnt tell you anything, because my car is missing on at least one cylinder if not two or three and idling at 1300rpm and it sounds really bad and it makes my whole car vibrate violently, But when I get it fixed I will post some sound bites.

Well I ended up just buying one from BMA (along with a bunch of other things). It was cheaper than I could get an OE replacement anywhere, and even the OE one only lasted about 3 years.

I installed my muffler last night after work... single outlet = easy. I bought it from BMA cheaper than I could have gotten the OE unit (btw it looks nothing like the one picture on the Bav Auto website). The construction quality of the ansa unit seems to be much better than that of the OEM one. The tone of it is definitely deeper than the oe one, but not by much. I'm sure it will increase once I've broken it in though. It still smells like shit from all of the glue residue that's burning off of it.

I'll post a soundclip in a week or so when it's broken in.

I'm not quite sure what they charged me exactly as I bought it in a big shipment of parts (probably should look at the invoice). Patrick said he could do it for ~$140 shipped though.

The tip is just a single round steel (i think). I'm thinking about getting an angled chrome tip welded on though. The muffler doesn't look anything like the one on Bav Auto's website btw.
