Dr Gas muffler help, want a deeper sound

Hey everyone, proud new owner of a 1989 325i here. I plan on putting on a new muffler soon. I've read the stock pipes aren't very restrictive, so I don't really see the need in spending lots of cash on any more pipes.

The muffler I plan on using is one of these:

Does anyone know which on is their quietest? I'll probably send him an email and see what he recommends.

I plan on doing a y pipe right before the muffler from dual 2" (stock size?) to 2.5", then running one of their single 2.5" mufflers.

I've also read that an x pipe will help give a deeper exhaust note, is this true? Will this help with sound?

    Thanks!

For reference if anyone comes along and searches for this stuff, the stock pipe diameter right before the muffler is 1.75" in my car. I went out and measured it with a set of calipers because of all the disagreement over the right size.

And the quietest dr gas muffler is the sportsman street. You can call them to get any configuration you want.

I ordered one with 2.5" inlet and dual 2" outlets, the total was about 110 customized and shipped to my door. I'll post a sound clip when i get it in a week or two!
