    cat probs

i bought a 318is. the previous owner gutted the cat, cause it got clogged. He just tacked it back on cause he did not have enough gas in his welder. do gutted cats usually make the exhaust sound bad or is it cause exhaust can come out from the cat (cause it was just tacked in place) causin it to rattle and sound bad? I am going to autox in the stock class so keep that in mind.

Does anyone know if a Dynomax Thrush Magnum Glasspack Muffler is good. Also what diameter do i need for a 91' 318is?

    Thanks guys,
    Charlie

gutted cats are bad for flow.. you're better off replacing it with a new one or putting in a straight pipe. also being tacked on, it's definetly going to be a bit louder.
