Is dual from head to muffler ok?

I managed to procure a parts car over the weekend for my on going eta re-build project. It's an eta like mine but someone had recently put on a full dual exhaust that looks rather nicely done and is in great shape. It basically consists of full duals from the exhaust manifold to a Flowmaster muffler with a pair of small resonators just before the differential. The cat has been eliminated as was the joint where the eta exhaust joins to 1 piece. Basically its two pipes from the manifold to the muffler with no crossover in between. I am considering transferring it to my car which has a rather dicey looking stock header. Will this create any issues for the engine?

it will flow better than the 2-1 of a stock eta and wont cause any issues

        1. Dyno
        2. Install
        3. Re-Dyno
        4. Report findings to r3v.
        5. Profit? No. But it could be interesting.

Seriously, I'd run it if it looks as good as described. The 88 eta's had duals (same as i) and had a little more horsepower than the earlier eta's, of course much of that minimal gain was probably due to the higher redline and the 885 head. I'd still use it!

Thanks for the info! I'll swap it and see what happens. I was worried that it needed a crossover (or a cat to act as one) but it looks like that is more of an issue with v8's and v6's.

It's possible the new parts car is an 88. I'll check when it stops pouring. I attached a pic of my first official "car in yard on blocks". Welcome to New Hampshire.

If I'm installing an exhaust manifold, is there anything I should get other than gaskets? I tend to get halfway through these things and need to order parts.

It will be fine. If anything put in a H pipe on it somewhere down the road. And personaly ill never run a X pipe on anything of mine again.

I finally got the exhaust removed from the parts car. I haven't decided if it's going on my DD or the LeMon. Is there anything fundamentally wrong with this setup (does it look like an ok system)?

Yea... I'm thinking its a great exhaust for my LeMon, not so much from my dd. I tend to take phone meetings in the car and a loud exhaust, while fun, would make it difficult. I'm thinking of rolling the dice on a eBay header and exhaust.

                    Thanks for the opinions guys.

If you buy the eBay headers, don't get the cheapo $120 ones. Go with the $280 ones that have 3 pipes per flange at the head. The cheapo ones are garbage.

Thanks for the info. My next question was going to be which is preferable, the individuals, the 3 per flange or the all six on one flange. I have seen each on eBay. Now I know. :)

That is an 83 ATC 200. My dad bought a pair of them new when my brother and I were kids. I still use it to haul around a trailer for yard work or to grab the mail (driveway is 700' long). It's nearly 30 years old and it starts first pull everytime.
