    Cat question?

    Does a cat go meow?

    Jk.
My cat started rattling but finding a cat will be hard universal are expensive don't have the funds. Any alternative? Cutting it off and welding a pipe? Any cons? I Don't have to smog my car until august of next year.

Cons and pros of welding a pipe? Would a muffler shop do this?

No a shop can not legally remove your cat. And if you are paying to get it welded just save and get a cat done and do it right.
To get you buy what rattles? The heat sheild? You may be able to bang it with a hammer to make it stop rattling.

Definitely the cat is rattling I have no heatshield on my car so definitely is rattling. I'm in a tight spot I don't have funds to get a 200 bucks cat though.

Don't go buy a $200 universal cat, it WILL fail before you even need to smog your car. Not only that, it will be more than $200 since this is CA and we have different laws.

Muffler shops are not supposed to delete your cat for you but you'll find some that will of course. If you do this, you're definitely going to want to put a muffler, glasspack, or Cherry Bomb in its place.

Otherwise, find a good used OEM cat section and swap it out.
