    Another Ebay Header Thread...

Hey guys, I have done tons of search, I hear good/bad, about to pull the trigger on some headers, but had to ask (Sorry). I'm about to get these

because supposedly they are replicating Stahl long tube headers, which are supposedly the best? Also, they are a 3-3 header rather than individual so i figured they "should" fit easier. These should wrap up the stroker motor

Anyone have ebay headers? success with a certain seller? etc... or is it just hit or miss.

Any info is greatly appreciated. First hand experience only please. I feel like theres just so much "yeah i hear they dont fit" but its not "I bought those and they were **** and dont work."

    Thanks guys.

This is the closest answer i got to..pm'd the guy as well a couple days ago, no answer.

    EDIT: Thread was updated..

I DON'T have first hand experience with them, but i have been in contact with one of the sellers a while back when they were in the $350 range.

they are 1 1/2" primaries which is the correct size for most of the engines out there. unless you are making over 200 +hp at the flywheel, this is great (no, your 2.7i does not make that much). they do not have a collector cone, but your can buy cast cones, cut the pipe & weld them on, then reweld the coupler pipe back on.

what have become known as the "ebay headers" are super sprint copies. it is a non dyno proven design and the 1 5/8" primaries are too large for most engines. fitment is also an issue.

now that the price has dropped so much, i give them a shot.
IIRC you will need to buy an o2 bung to weld in also, just so you are aware of that.

In regard to quality, I got a set of SS copies off ebay for $75 for my e46. Fitment was great, except the rear o2 sensor bung is right on the body of the car, but that's an e46 problem.

I was impressed for what I paid. They're probably coming from the same place in China as the e30 ones anyways.

Thanks for the info, I think I'm gonna get these, for that the guy in my first post had success.

o2 bung is not a problem, I already have one for my MTX-L Wideband, and I actually think I will be at about 200 crank hp after I put in the Miller MAF/W.A.R. chip (and a nice tune), m50 injectors, and these long tube headers along with the 272 cam. So the 1.5" would be perfect for my engine right?

Then I need to get rid of my muffler.
Anyone have the Topspeed muffler with 3" twin tips? Is that a straight thru muffler like the magnaflows? or does it have insulation? The video on their ebay ad sounds great! But its on a e36(m50) and they claim it sounds similar, but i dont believe it. m20 is completely diff sound than an m50.

I got the same headers as "88e30ix", I agree they were kinda a pain to get on cuz a couple of the tubes had to be pushed over a little to align with the studs properly. But I still run them now there awesome. They go to some piping and then a flow master. No cat or anything. Very little restriction it sounds great! :)

I just bought the headers, so I will give feedback on what happens next. Wish me luck! Hopefully they fit right in :)
