    Need welding advice

    Hey guys;

    I'm just finishing up my E30 M50 build and I'm trying to put together an exhaust.

    My only issue is that I have an exhaust hole that I can't seem to fill.

    The hole is between my two 1.75" pipes, right before the xpipe.

    I CAN'T GET THE WELD/WELDER INTO THAT AREA since the two pipes are so close together. What can I do? How do you normally weld a pipe together in dual exhaust setups?

    Tack, then drop the system and weld. Then re-install.

      I have it out, it's just that I can't get the welder into that very tight area between the two pipes.

      So I'm wondering how all the other dual pipe guys do their exhaust welding?

          The problem is that the two pipes are close together and so there are two little holes on either side of the inside of the area.

            i don't know man thats a tough one. if you can't get the mig gun in there you could try stick welding it. If you can't do that, try clamping it with a flat band clamp.

                        Weld a plate over it and then prime it so it doesnt rust.

                          Sheet of steel

                          Bend into a C shape

                          Wrap around pipe. Cover the hole.

                          Weld.
