Yes, the car originally came with a catalytic converter if it was for the US market. What may have happened in the years since then is anyone's guess.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Really, You guys don't have to pass emissions. Your lucky, the first thing they do here is stick a mirror under the car to check for a cat, then you get the sniffer up your pipe.
