I've heard good things about the cat-back. I don't see why the cat forward would be bad. that might actually be the right picture too.

Rather than find a used stock cat section at the risk of not passing emissions, I'm really considering this magnaflow unit. Looks to be a nice piece.

Is this supposed to be strictly bolt in replacement? I'd also be interested.
I love that people ask stupid questions so I dont have.

Yes, it's a direct-fit bolt-in. No cutting or welding required... apparently.

Just ordered it and should have it on the car in a few weeks. I'll let you know how it goes.

Where did you order from? I googled the part number and just got some generic jeep cat.

                    also,
Browse all MagnaFlow Catalytic Converter replacements for your car, truck or SUV. From direct-fit, universal, CARB compliant or federal compliant, buy the converter that your vehicle needs at MagnaFlow.com.

Question; is this supposed to a "free-flow/ high-flow" Cat? The diagram does make the cat appear a lot smaller than factory, if their diagram it appears the cat would only be roughly 12 inches in length. Which also leads me to believe this set up would weigh less than stock??
ANswered my own question weight is 15Lbs.

                      Hi Mccor023,
We do not advertise our converters as being "high-flow" as they are designed as emissions peices. In fact in some areas we are actually prohibited to do so as part of our certifications. That said, most OEM converters contain a roughly 600-900 cell count on the internal blocks. Our converters utilize a roughly 400 cell count block.

Don't buy this for an ix. It doesn't fit! Now I have to get an exhaust shop to get creative. Grrrr.

Any update on the exhaust? Post some clips of revs or take offs. I'm actually considering the same piece for my 325is
