m20 - DIY Dual Exhaust - Any Info??

Want to do a dual exhaust on my e30 after I finish the m20 rebuild. Does anyone on here have any pictures under the car or tips to share for this?

I do not want a "dual tip" exhaust, i want two separate pipes.

Yes. The 325i exhaust is a dual exhaust. Just because both pipes exit the same side of the car does not make it anything other than a dual exhaust.

I think the 325e had a single pipe all the way back to the muffler, then two tips out of the muffler.
Whereas the 325i had dual exhaust all the way back, including two into the muffler, and two out. At least that's the way my 325i is..

unless it was replaced with something else, that's how it should be.

get long tube headers, about 8-12ft of straight piping, resonator and muffler or 2 mufflers. cut weld and blah blah blah. if you dont have the means to do it, have someone else or a shop do it. as far as i know, there isnt a company that makes mid pipes for an e30. only cat backs and headers. good luck, i just finished my exhaust doing it the first time and it fucking sucked. having a lift makes life pleasant.

Any easy way to do it would be to copy someone's stock exhaust. The 325i/is exhaust is dual from the manifolds.

The one on the left is the stock system.

How loud do you want it? Stock levels?

On my 87 325e it is single pipe, single tip muffler. When I redo my exhaust im going to go single 2.25" pipe after y pipe into single- dual tip borla xs muffler. Cat and res in between. Maybe cat less.
