    ANSA on its way...

:) I read things in this site and Unofficialbmw.com, different opinions, and then I thought of when i had a Datsun (yes Datsun a 310 GX, google it, it was a Ferrari to me) I wish I could have done an Ansa muffler so I bought a tip instead. Then I had a nice Remus on my VW Jetta loved it but can't afford the same system now. So I bought an Ansa from Bavarian Auto and it should arrive on Tuesday or so. I think a sick day is in order, not sure if I will attempt to install it or ask my mechanic friend Rob to install it. I did install the Ansa tip and it fell of on our way to a wedding, my wife still laughs at that. Got better on the Remus, never failed. Any comments on installing the Ansa?
    Thanks guys.

From what I've read and seen online they rust if you are in the colder climates but last just fine in the sunny states, and they are cheap to replace..

Post some pics once you get it , I would like to see how it looks out the box. I am considering buying one for my just to get rid of the crap loud muffler that the po installed on it, it's too damn loud.

I have one on my car right now. I'm dropping the exhaust tomorrow to try and find where my leak is... I'm hoping it's the gaskets.

Ouch, Ansa in NJ. I hope that car is summer-only.

Well warmer than Canada maybe, but I know it might not make it for too long. I agree that it might not be my smartest move!! I wish I could have bought a stainless system right now but there are other things to do to this cabrio, suspension was what I expected to invest in this spring/summer and the muffler crapped out.

I fell in love with an e46 like custom exhaust from England, quad hand made for E30s, price was decent about $400 or so plus shipping was going to be the bummer, but I cant find the add or the email I had exchanged with these guys. Oh well I guess I have a year before my Ansa craps out and I can get my quad system.

ahh... not true. i had one on my 325i in the states and it was nice. not too loud but just right. I would spray it with anti rust/ undercoat paint to make it last. take care of stuff and they will last.

fit a e46 quad exhaust!!! Until I looked under my e30 and realized there is a 13gal. gas tank there!!! So for now I'll install my ANSA and be as happy as possible.

I have had my ansa muffler for over 2 years and not one spot of rust, and they salt the shit out of the roads here in the winter and my car does like to play in the snow. Without a rear valance or mudflaps my muffler gets plastered and it doesnt show any signs of rust.

Stop talking out your ass if you dont have an Ansa muffler.

My setup is mandrel bent 2.5 all the way back to the muffler.

I hope you are right !!! I can't wait to get that ANSA off my car!!!

When I bought the car it roared like a Mustang 5.0, that is due to the rear of the muffler was blown out. Then my buddy Rob installs the ANSA in his shop, man am I glad he did it instead of me, he bitched and girped, and had the car on a lift and any tool possible. Me I would have been on my back with the car inches above my face. And then I start her up, man the disappointment !!!:( It sounds like a Hundai, wait my friends Hundai 6 cylinder sounds louder with the dual exhaust. OK so it is way too civilized and I'm no teenager. The only good thing is that I don't have to feel guilty when I start it up or come home late with the neighbors.

Even the look is wrong, the pipes hang about two inches to low.
Now I can't wait for the next exhaust system on the car!!!

Yes all new Bavarian/ANSA hanger kit.

You don't like it because it's very quiet, is that correct ? Can you record a sound clip ?

Yes too quiet, I will try the sound clip but when I did a before clip my camera's audio system muted due to the high volume of my near free flow exhaust.
