I have a little leak right before it, but with 2.5 mandrel bent up to it without a resonator or cat its freakin loud at WOT but stockish at idle, and it doesnt drone or make any annoying sounds on the highway. I have had mine for over 2 years and I dont have 1 spot of rust or paint chipping anywhere. The folded seam design gets a bad rap and people assume that its going to rust in less than a year. Maybe because these are painted they dont rust; I dont know who started the rusting in a year B.S. but that is completely false. And I do drive my car a lot in the winter and for the better part of two-three months my muffler was caked with snow/salt. Thanks for the reminder for a video I will go and do that here is a sec before the sun sets.

That is the difference, no cat and no resonator. When I did a cat back on my 85 Jetta I removed the silencer/pre muffler and the two muffler, the in-line setup was dropped for one nice fat Remus single tip. My brothers dog Rusty knew when I was coming from a 1/4 mile away. It was low and menacing (so was Rusty a Ratty) without being loud and tinny (Jappy like with a 6" pipe)

if you just replace the muffler on a stock setup, it sounds just like stock at idle and a little more of a rumble at higher rpms.
there was a noticable difference in back-pressure and the ansa is around 20 lbs lighter than stock.

i have since removed mine to repaint due to rust (only 2 years old, 1 year of driving) and the other thing i hate is the angle in which the pipes come out. its stupid looking.

1st and 2nd attempt at getting the video online failed, I am going to make another better video and see if I cant get the video online or at least onto my computer.

I'm hated as well I'm sure, I go out to work on my car or in my garage no earlier than 9-10 pm or so...

I live around a lot of older folks that are more or less retired.

But lets see you have the garage stereo, me cursing my car left and right and then my exhaust that you can hear from a mile away.

There are some Spec/SCCA Miata guys a block away that own about 4-5 miatas, but at 1/4 throttle the M20 mutes those 1.6/1.8 miatas.

Could someone confirm if all Ansa cat backs come in all black with single tip for the 318i and dual tip for 325s ? Or is it only Ansa Sport ?

I called autohausaz but they couldn't verify as they didn't have one on hand..

I would even go with the SS ebay system for the same money to try something different.

The one you purchased, is it basic ansa or ansa sport ? I am reading that the main reason why you don't like it because it's not loud enough which is fine with me, I don't want it loud :)
