I hate my B&B exhaust!

I've got the same set up, but with stock headers and the cat intact, and it's not too loud at all IMO...granted, if I get to close to a car with a sensitive alarm, it can set its warning system off, but surely B&B has toned it down since the early 2000 versions.I think Tri-Flo has made thier exhausts a bit quieter than they used to be. (at least for the E30) I had one for an '87 IS in 2001 and I remember it bieng much louder-real deep at lower revs and it SCREAMED at the top end. I loved it.
This last summer I got one for my '89 325i Autocross/Track car hoping for the same sound and it was toned down for sure. This is on a car with headers, and no cat so I was expecting even louder.
By the way Justin, IE long tube headers are on the way along with c3motorsport coilovers, so I'll be seeing you at the track/auto-x soon hopefully.Leave a comment:

trade you for my IE SS exhaust? we can meet half way, like in fairfield...
its just a little bit louder than stock, and a tad deeper tone at low RPM.Leave a comment:

SS isn't that loud. B&B is horribly loud I have one on another car of mine, was meant to be temp till I got a proper rear box but cash issues stopped that.
I get stopped once a month with it. I used to like Remus units but they tips all suck now, dollar for dollar the IE system isn't that bad.Leave a comment:

I have a Borla stainless muffler on both of my e30's. Unbelievably awesome sounding - no drone, quiet at idle (a little rumble), and loud when you really get into it. $111 from summit for a 2.5" single in/out. Not sure why the hell anyone would pay over $200 for a muffler for a street driven e30.
This muffler matched with a magnaflow cat, long tube headers, and single 2.5" piping is pure sex at 5k.Leave a comment:

Ebay stuff is what you pay for. Their headers crack as well as the catbacks. I havent welded on BMW ebay exhausts, But ive TIGed my share of hondas and chevys with Ebay headers and exhausts.Leave a comment:

I <3 SS. It's quiet at cruise/idle, and loud enough for me after 3500rpm. it's also held up for like 15 years without issues.. I don't think that ebay exhaust will do that.Leave a comment:

I love my ebay exhaust. No drone. A little throatier than stock. Stainless steel. direct bolt on. Oh and cheap. only 330 shipped. I suspect its the same one everyone else is selling for $500.

What is the right exhaust note???
This sucks, since we are all different we all have different opinions!!!
When I bought my e30 the muffler was broken and the car sounded nice and loud, well bit too loud and had to replace it, I read and read and made my decision to buy ANSA Sport cat back. Now that it's installed I'm not happy with it I think its too quiet. So I'm still reading forums on what to buy. I will go to my local BMW CCA meet this Thursday with the hopes of listening to some exhaust notes to see what sounds good to me.Leave a comment:

Super sprint...loud?!?! Hardley, it is one of the most mello systems i'ver ever heard. Super smooth, super understated, very nice.Leave a comment:

those systems are a little loud too. if you want something close to stock go with ireland engineering cat back.Leave a comment:

yes i was really interested in advice, i just threw in the trade thing just b/c. So you think super sprint is good? does it have the "factory look"? How Pricey are they? Do you think pricier systems are worth it?Leave a comment:
