By the way Justin, IE long tube headers are on the way along with c3motorsport coilovers, so I'll be seeing you at the track/auto-x soon hopefully.

I heard you got a deal on those headers?? nice. The fit isnt perfect but I'm not complaining. It made for a decent boost in power and it doesnt "fall off" after 6k anymore. They look pretty cool too.

This last summer I got one for my '89 325i Autocross/Track car hoping for the same sound and it was toned down for sure. This is on a car with headers, and no cat so I was expecting even louder.

trade you for my IE SS exhaust? we can meet half way, like in fairfield...

its just a little bit louder than stock, and a tad deeper tone at low RPM.

SS isn't that loud. B&B is horribly loud I have one on another car of mine, was meant to be temp till I got a proper rear box but cash issues stopped that.

I get stopped once a month with it. I used to like Remus units but they tips all suck now, dollar for dollar the IE system isn't that bad.

I have a Borla stainless muffler on both of my e30's. Unbelievably awesome sounding - no drone, quiet at idle (a little rumble), and loud when you really get into it. $111 from summit for a 2.5" single in/out. Not sure why the hell anyone would pay over $200 for a muffler for a street driven e30.

This muffler matched with a magnaflow cat, long tube headers, and single 2.5" piping is pure sex at 5k.

Ebay stuff is what you pay for. Their headers crack as well as the catbacks. I havent welded on BMW ebay exhausts, But ive TIGed my share of hondas and chevys with Ebay headers and exhausts.

I <3 SS. It's quiet at cruise/idle, and loud enough for me after 3500rpm. it's also held up for like 15 years without issues.. I don't think that ebay exhaust will do that.

I love my ebay exhaust. No drone. A little throatier than stock. Stainless steel. direct bolt on. Oh and cheap. only 330 shipped. I suspect its the same one everyone else is selling for $500.

What is the right exhaust note???

This sucks, since we are all different we all have different opinions!!!

When I bought my e30 the muffler was broken and the car sounded nice and loud, well bit too loud and had to replace it, I read and read and made my decision to buy ANSA Sport cat back. Now that it's installed I'm not happy with it I think its too quiet. So I'm still reading forums on what to buy. I will go to my local BMW CCA meet this Thursday with the hopes of listening to some exhaust notes to see what sounds good to me.
