Magnaflow with a resonator before it sounds baller.
Not sure if I have videos up of my exhaust, but it doesn't drone really that bad, not too much in my eyes, and completely livens up when I step on it at any speed in any gear. I love it. :) A nice little burble on idle too. hehe- Sean Hayes

You know, I have clips, but man, I've been so lazy in getting anything online.
I bought my Muffler and resonator from http://justmagnaflow.com Bought my Cat off of ebay (Catco cat!). 14815 muffler, kickass, beautiful tips (as long as you take care of them - clean em off if they get covered in grime!) and beautiful sound with the resonator (i think I have an 18" 2.5" resonator. I just did 2.5" all the way back.
You could keep your cat and just buy the muffler and bring it to a shop and tell them to hook it up. Have them hang it right though - I'm still dealing with hanger issues, and it's not where I want it. I want it perfectly in there, so I'm kind of a perfectionist, but meh.
Come to think of it, my snow fun clips have my exhaust in them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AGvXVvpo_8
However, the snow muffles in down slightly - but it sounds great! With the resonator and cat out...omg...it sounds SO AWESOME! I can scare people with it, and since the muffler broke in, there's no rasp at all - just ROARING MONSTER! hehe I drove around in Indio for like 2 weeks with just my straight pipe...hehe- Sean Hayes

My car has an exhaust from the PO.
Ebay DTM, 2.5" pipe, aftermarket "straight through" cat on stock "i" manifolds.
Pretty damned loud, IMO. Drones like hell at highway speeds, nasty idle, raspy. Burly, though.
It has gotten progressively worse in the last 20,000 miles (3 years or more in my car).
Anyone basically under 30 seems to think it is the totally baller exhaust sound. I fucking hate it. I am doing a radical change in going Dynamax "SS" series and Borla tips, plus a 24" resonator. We are having a massive crackdown on street racing here, and my car sounds like it is doing a full throttle romp when I am just leaving a stoplight, much less when I am actually getting on it.
Ask anyone who has heard it, it sounds pretty damned wicked, but way too ricey for me.

Ohhh...I didn't mention that straight pipe was too loud. It sounded AWESOME. But, I didn't feel comfortable getting on it around town, because I'd wake up the living dead a couple blocks away. It's fun for a while, but driving to school and home (1000 miles each way) would KILL. Without my resonator and cat, it drones BAD.
The cat and resonator do a good job of limiting drone, and eliminating rasp. Also, it removes the smell fuel that may attract unwanted attention as well.
Over the past year, about 7,000 miles, my muffler has gotten much much louder. It sounds sweet, but it's definitely loud. :)
I'd reccommend against a straight pipe for a DD, I had it made so I could swap between the two.
Total cost for my setup was definitely more than I would have thought.
Here's my list:
Labor - had original muffler put on, then bought a new one to replace my used one, so had that one put on - labor all together around $260 (this included fabbing downpipes from my unique shorty headers, which I'm sure was a bitch)
Shorty headers - some custom made ones from EtaSport, like $100
Muffler+Resonator+Cat+Ypipe - around $160+$80+60+25 (estimates here)
So, when it was all said and done, I might have dumped $600-$700 into an exhaust that...frankly, sounds cool, but wasn't worth $700, especially considering how horribly mounted my muffler is, and my original installer kinda did a halfass job with the tubing.
When I have things fixed for good though, I'm getting long tube headers, which will eliminate the crappy fabbed downpipes. No downpipes will easily cut off $100 of the labor. They didn't look like they were easy to bend!
Oh, another note - with my low ride height, the 2.5" tubing doesn't fit real well under the rear subframe, so I've actually already grinded a hole in my resonator - so think about that too. I'm probably going to have that fixed, but I can't get over ANY speedbumps anymore. It's kinda cool, but kinda sucks. Specially when I'm loaded down and my exhaust is (not kidding) less than 1.5"-2" away from the ground!- Sean Hayes
