Do I have this right? Heatshield

The heatshield above my muffler is rusted to shit. I was told I dont need it because the exhaust doesn't get hot back there..but BMW probably put it there for a reason.

I'm on RealOem and it says its 16.??, I thought it'd be a lot more then that. So #8 is the heatshield above the muffler correct? Thanks

Well...one of the new guys at the BMW shop I have been taking my cars too for the last 6 years. He wasn't the normal guy (been there for 15 years) that I usually interact with.

I ditch the muffler shield on all my e30 because they will rattle like hell if you have any kind of bass.

I have never had any issues at all ever.

And if you would like to buy one I have two in mint condition ready to ship.

One is off of an 89 325i and the other is from a 91 318is.

And OP that looks to be the part and pelican has to special order it, but only costs $14.75+ shipping...
