    glowing red manifold

I have an M50B25 NV with an HX35 with a modified ebay mani. I'm also running COP MS1 V3.

I ran my car for a bit with the turbo loosely connected to the charge piping and it idled around 1000. After I hooked it up, the car started to idle around 2500. Then I noticed my exhaust mani was RED! I have a small exhaust leak so my O2 sensor is reading all over the place (could be noise too). I revved it a few times and it actually made 8psi at 7100rpms. That doesn't sound right at all.

Theories? Ideas? It's kinda scary to have your mani turn red at 2k rpms just sitting still.

    Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

do you have an air/fuel gauge? and yes that is not supposed to happen. My guess is the ecu wasnt seeing as much air as it wanted so it pulled back fuel, than you connected the charge pipe giving alot more air now it all out of wack. Thats really just an idea, I am not a MS expert, what are you running for air metering?
    Anything can be done

Theres a leak in my exhaust so its off. The signal in my datalog is WAY shakey. I don't know if its because of the leak or because of bad wiring.

well dude, if you have 2 potential problems and are not sure which is causing the lean condition, the logical thing to do would be fix one of them and see if it goes away...

i would start with the exhaust leak, esp if it's before the O2 sensor.

i thought you had a shop finishing this build now?

What's advance are you seeing at idle?
You sure the antilag isn't on?

Leaks are fixed but the heat killed my spark wiring.

The shop flaked on me. Kept the car for 4 months and didn't do shit. So I took it back and am finishing it. 4 months wasted...

It was idling at 2500rpms and about 19 degrees of advance.

You might be running a bit rich with a misfire. My maxima did that when it was missing bad. I think you're dumping too much fuel.
I got a fender roller now! LMK if you need me to roll your fenders or want to rent the tool from me locally.

eh could be. I redid the spark wiring and now it idles lower. still at about 1700 tho. I wonder why...

                    This whole build is sloppy.

Id make sure you are really at 19* advanced. It only glows without load when your timing is wacked beyond belief.

Yea, for idle it should be around 10*, maybe up to 14 depending on your setup or maybe even as low as 8.

19 degrees is actually too retarded.. for 2500rpm. why is your idle 2500rpm again?
