    reliable boosted m42?

I have been tossing around the idea of boosting my m42. I don't want a real intense setup, I should say I can't afford one. I would like to run around 6-7 psi, stock internals. Something like Danny's budget build or the other guys at m42club.com.

Is it realistic to have a reliable, boosted m42 for a low budget? No offense to danny or any other boosted m42 owners, it seems that at some point most of them traded reliability for more power, I would like to think I won't go this route but I hear boost is addicting. Reliabilty is number 1 priority, I am still doing lots of research on turbo and I won't start to actually buy/build until I'm absolutley sure I kno what I'm doing.

Is this a realistic goal or a just a dream?

you need engine management, quality parts and time spent on the dyno. it's not rocket science, you just have to do your homework.

Buy my kit, or even just my megasquirt and wideband, then you're reliable.

you should be able to get it to pass a sniff test no problem.

it could even pass a visual, except for the turbo itself. So basically in the nazi police state of california, you're hosed..

so you are telling me that your turbo kit was completely reliable in the end until you got that ref ticket?

congrats on selling your kit, i didn't have the funds to buy it at the time neways. now i know i can pretty much mimic your build and avoid the bumps that you ran into on the way. no offense but thanks for being the guinea pig, how much hp where you getting in the end?
