What will I break first? LOL

getting this cheap cxracing turbo kit. I know I know, you get what you pay for and all that lol. For the price it does seem like a decent deal. Anyway, it's an 87 325i. Bottom end is stock, but I have a schrick 288 cam, heavy duty race rockers from IE, and kormans dual valve springs. Also ported and polished, and all the valves were refaced and did a 3 angle valve job. So the head is pretty built and safe.

I just want to know from everyone experience how much boost I can push SAFELY, but still make good power. I'm looking to make at least 220-250 whp.

Any ideas, questions, input, advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot guys

Ooh and btw i just installed a stage 2 clutch

management? you can't just bolt up a turbo and run bigger injectors and expect it to be safe. Megasquirt? SAFC? something?

yeah I shouldve imcluded that in my post. Ever heard of thy FEMI fuel management thing . It increases fuel pressure as you build boost or something along those lines. Think that would be a good idea?

without management you can't realistically run more than 5-7psi. that might get to your goal of ~220whp, but I can't say it would be reliable.

you're thinking of an FMU/RRPFR right? I would also go with an ebay "turbo" chip (basically a stock chip with a retarded WOT map).

But then consider the same motor would do 14psi reliably with some sort of management.

^ thanks Danny. So with the eBay turbo chip, the turbo kit, injectors, and the mods done to my car right now, what would you say would be a safe number to run boost at reliably?

                              I'd say 7.75psi.
