    General info on S/C'ed M42's

    Hello r3v,

I am exploring the option of supercharging my M42 and was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of some general information as to what supercharger setups I should look into and what kind of numbers I can expect.

I've searched here and on e30tech without much success, and I've only found a little concerning S/C's on m42club as it seems most people seem to go for T/C's instead.

How plausible is ~250hp? What kind of money would it cost me to get there? Would it be worth it over a 24v swap?

Any kind of help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you can find a DASC, I see used setups for sale every once in a while.

Yeah, I've heard of the DASC kit.

I'm more interested in finding some more information on Eaton and Rotrex kits, and what kind of numbers to expect from some setups that they offer.

My ultimate goal is to be somewhere around ~250hp.

You can fabricate one up but I don't think you will find any "kits" other than that one. FYI, the DASC uses an Eaton unit.

That's kind of what I was expecting. Thanks for the help!

Even with running a SC on my car, I would probably consider going with a Turbo on that motor. Good luck and post it up which ever way you go. ;)

Check out M42club.com and 318ti.org; lots of good info on both sides. I almost went DASC, but ended up going turbo on my M42.
