River scott your best option for a rhd vehicle like ours is to go a custom manifold. And if you arent chasing 400hp which by the sounds of it you arent. An internal gated turbo is more then enough. Then you have more money for a decent cooler, ecu, injectors, fuel pump, pipe work, tune.

As far as adapters i'd go with a revshift unit so you'll at least have a company who will stand behind their work. Whether or not it will fit on a RHD e30 is a different story. Have you considered going with the turbo diesel manifold? Heck if you find one at the yard with a good turbo on it you'll be golden. I've been doing some reading since i just bought a 524td to daily and they come stock boosting 13+ psi. People are boosting 18-20psi with that turbo and an intercooler. 10psi by 2000rpm. You could use that setup and get a v band exhaust housing that deletes the internal wastegate and toss an external one on the egr port. I went the cheapest route and welded the flapper shut and then welded a 2.5" v band to the factory outlet. Looks just like the ebay units. lol. Doubt it will hold forever since i welded stainless to cast iron but its a good start that should last a few years.

I'm gonna have a talk to an exhaust shop that make all their exhaust systems custom in house, i'll see if he can make something similar to the tcd top mount manifold becuase
I know they work on RHD e30's and it looks like a simple design to mock uo, this guy has given me good prices in the past hopefully he can give me a good deal since i'm doing my whole 3" exhaust sytem through him and some of the IC pipe work

the 524td never made it here to Australia, however that revshift adapter is looking nice and it's priced more towards my range i'll probably go for that if a local exhaust shop can't make me a TCD top mount style manifold and with the stronger aussie doller it might come in a bit cheaper :P

Well a used 524td manifold tends to sell for around $80-100 shipped. I can't imagine it costing more then $200 shipped to Melbourne. Let me know if you need help getting one shipped out to you in case you want to consider going that route.

Thanks mate, that would be cool I just read up those kits monkey madness made up to make them fit. What turbo flanges do they use and where do you guys usually find these manifolds in the scrap yards?

If you post up a "want to buy" thread you'll have a few responses. Usually there are a few to be had on e30tech. They use a t3 divided entry flange. The monkey madness adapters are cool but the cost of oem gaskets for a diesal are very expensive. I'd suggest making your own by buying a sheet of gasket material and cutting them out your self or doing what 99% of all the 524td manifold users did and just notch and port the manifold. I've been thinking about useing the adapters i have to mount a m20 turbo manifold on to my turbo diesel. lol

I have a 666 adapter for sale that fits stock m20 exhaust manifolds, but shipping to australia would probably be pricey. I'm not sure how it would work on a RHD car either...
