    Turbo information wanted

So I want to put a turbo set-up on the M20, but not sure what kit to get. It would be for a street/daily driver type of car. I don't really want something that's bad quality, but not wanting to spend upwards of $2,000 either. Anyone know of a decently priced, and reliable kit? Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Plenty of said 'kits' on the internet (eBay) for less than $2k, but when it's all said and done, you would have been better off being patient and building your own kit slowly as your are more likely to have issues with a kit at that price.

Better to build it your own, you can get good power with stock internals m20 aside from o-ringing the block, this was my previous set up and it was smooth :)

        stock m20b25
        oringed block
        custom made exhaust manifold
        3" IC
        2.5" IC piping
        gt35 turbo .63 a/r

        24# injectors
        FMU
        turbo chip

        R.D.P clutch
        325 LSD

        etc..

It was running good up to 1 bar of boost BUT it was over $2000

Was there a certain shop/online store you bought your set-up from? Or did you have to find each piece individually? I want a turbo so bad haha.

Check the classified section here and over on the tech.

Make sure you do lots and lots of research before jumping right into it. Understand what EVERY part of the turbo set-up does and how it works. You can easily put together a kit for sub 2k.

Decently priced, and reliable doesn't really mix with not wanting to hit over $2k.

im building a turbo m20b25 currently. before i even get the turbo hanging off the side and the engine management sorted i think ill hit over 2k.

but you will need for sure the block oringed OR mls h/g. i went mls. and you will need arp head studs eitherway.

id go turbo adapter. its easy and cheep. im also doing this.

then you have fmic, piping, bov and wastegate and engine management to consider. the motronic can be tuned on its own for the turbo. just needs to be set up right. or youll need maf conversion, megasquirt or turbo chips and tuned... its all up to you.

bov and wastegate should not be cheep items. they need to be of the highest quality. they are what stands between you and over boost and engine failure.

Does anyone have any experience with the Dederic kit? I bought an exhaust from him and the quality is amazing. 3in stainless mandrel bent all the way back to a magnaflow muffler. If his exhaust is any insight into his turbo kit that is the route i'll be going...
For 3k you get MS, all piping made to bolt up, intercooler, i myself will go with a holset hx35, and a couple different things. I think 3k is pretty reasonable for all that is offered.
