Probably the easiest way to go is the 885 head (the 325I head) with the 1.3 motronic with a 3.73 LSD. That is if your bottom end is good to go. My 86 had compression numbers that were all over the place. 200psi High / 150psi Low. At that point I was going to swap in an M50, keeping my g260 and 2.93LSD, but I found an 84 that already had the 2.7 with the 885 head on it so I sold the eta and bought the swapped car. It comes down to what you really want to do with your car. Truly the best way to go, if you want to keep the b27 bottom end stock is to get a 731 head ( from a euro 323i) and port that.

that why im probably gonna take it off when i smog it but otherwise where i live cops dont check for that, the only thing they check you for are lights out and 4x4s not having mudflaps etc.

SChargers are illegal in California because it's an engine mod.
Engine modification is illegal in California.
    Cone filter? Illegal.
That cool shiny intake pipe? Illegal.
    Supercharger? Illegal.

Any place it fits is the best, when mine was close to the hood it cooked the paint off it.
But that was on 17000 rpms and youll need nothing close to it..

No, just dont mount the superchager close to stuff that dont like heat. And use the largest intercooler you can get a hold of..

i was thinking about that too since i might just keep it a stock eta even (only rev maxed to 5k)...for the pulley im thinking of going to an electric fan and put it in front of the crank pulley

Yep you can, most cheap turbo builds uses stock afm and emm.
Only "problem" i can see coming is room for the belt, and where to mount the driving pulley.
Bought mine M65 on ebay.de. Theres lots of them from merc c230..

yea im still thinking supercharger but can i get it to go thru the stock afm? if i can get it on there and make it relativly easy to go back to stock once every two years im fine with it and to me the SC seems easier than the turbo or engine swap.

the most expensive seems to be the SC itself the rest of the stuff seems pretty cheap to aquire

Had a Eaton M65 on my last car, toyota pickup diesel, used one evening to get it mounted. Had 0,3 bar boost at idle..
Do something different and do it, im planning supercharger next to the turbo in mine.
Nothing comes close to that torque.
