Turbo in CA?

Word.
I think I have dd'ed more non-emissions-testable cars in california than when living in other states.
"special smog" is a way of life. Out of state is plating is usually the best way to get around the 2 california issues of a sports car:
#1. Front plate; find a state that does not issue front plates.
#2. No care for : Smog / catalysts / air pump OBD2 issues for swaps or newer modified cars
I hug trees also as many in northern california are pro-trees.
but usually after I drink a few beers and before/after a bike ride.Leave a comment:

California is FULL of heavily modified cars, every make and model imaginable.
Needing a "special smog" is just a way of life. It's worth the hassle, I love SoCal.Leave a comment:

despite the snow and the fact that I can only drive my car 3 months out of the whole year, i'm glad to live in MN, no smog checks....;)Leave a comment:

cause i want whats best for the op and i'm a treehugger :DWhy do you need to post if you're not answering his question? Sounds like he is already turbo'd or is considering one.
I am registering my car in Lake County which is no smog, so that is how I will get around that. I would say you will have to pay to get around smog.
I hope to be doing a small 6-8psi turbo b25Leave a comment:

Make sure you have a 2nd car lol.thanks for your informative answers everyone! I am considering it, would be used as a dd (whats wrong with having some turbo fun on my way to school?) and autocrossing mostly. Buttchug Im really curious to how the m42 handles boosting, doesnt seem like a sought after combo. You might be getting a pm soon.
I hateeeeeeeeeee when my car distracts me from school.Leave a comment:

Mine will be turbo'd in the next few weeks, and I'm due for smog in January, but I'm getting a P.O. box in Jamul (small town in San Diego) where they don't require smog... But getting hood popped on the street is another story.Leave a comment:
