Eaton SC M20 HP/TQ RESULTS and decision?!?

FINALLY I got my first results with the New GTECH FANATIC SS /GPS which is very accurate.

    Engine specs:

M20B25 stock compression new gaskets and metric blues
    Compression 150 across.

M62 SC intercooled 12 PSI... 16 degree timing at WOT and 11.5AFR

Still learning it ...BUT I got 268HP and 289 TQ at 4850RPM and 1/4 mile of 13.73 at 101MPH

    I want 12's minimum..so I got a long road ahead

so I have a decision to do? Asking R3V to help me decide..

    PLANs

    A) Go with my original plan of twincharging and rebuild the M20 to handle BIG boost

    B) Use my (E34 M30B35) engine and Supercharge it with my spare M90 SC and go BIG front mount intercooler.

    C) screw the old school BMW Inline 6 engines and go M60 v8 and SC that..

I love supercharging because I love the low end torque and instant power it makes.
    9
A: M20 already SC add turbo
    77.78%
    7
    B: M30 and M90 SC
    22.22%
    2
    C: go BIG motor V8
    0.00%
    0

    The poll is expired.

Twin charge it, best of both worlds with a motor already in place.

dang it I typed a bunch of stuff but then my computer froze...

so I say twincharge or do a antilag turbo setup. I've tried a makeshift antilag and with my holset it still lacked bottom end but on-oFf throttle was excellent and the whistle it made at idle was crazy. It was something like -20 degrees of timing at low load and throttle kicked open 50%

edit: also you realize your going to need fender flares or a widebody. stock fitting tires dont like lots of hp and I can only imagine a twincharge setup would DESTROY your tires. I launch at 7psi and burn the tires to about 60mph, its kind of pointless to need tons of power below 3k unless its like a dedicated auto-x car running some 245's.

I can bet even at your current power level you can get some good wheelspin since the power comes on so soon.

DOUBLE EDIT; also I bet you could get about 20derees of timing at WOT as long as you have good fuel.

Keep in mind that regardless of solution I will have to pull the M20 to mod it to take 20PSI...

Your car comes a long way...you transformed it into a monster :) Love your last video with the antilag car sounds amazing.

Im burning serious tires right now with the instant torque am getting my 225/50R16 are no match for my power level as it is...I will for sure need to move to 245/45 IF I can find any!! or simply use slicks at the track.

Fender flares, maybe car will definitly have to go trew a transformation to handle the power I want.

I think I got enough low end power hence why I wanted the turbo 4K and up to also give me amazing top end. Am on the fence with what to do since all the options seem good...since I have to pull the motor anyways..

Unless you think my M20 can take 18-20PSI right now with of course tuning A LA MS2?

You can make another 100hp and still be ok on a stock M20 with ARP head studs. If you use something like an HX40 turbo, you can get close to 400whp with 18-20psi and a good tune. You’ve already done the work supercharging your M20, just finish building the set-up and see what she’ll do.

You think an M20 block stock can take close to 350-400HP? If thats the case I can just leave the engine in the car and start building the turbo side this winter and get MS2 working on it.

anybody interested in buying my WAR CHIP, MILLER 3" MAF and 30# injectors? to help me fund the twincharge project I will need 60# injectors and MS2.

I'm running 20psi on aggressive timing, daily driving and auto-xing it all with a stock M20 w/ 20yr old headgasket and ARP head studs. The M20 can take a ton of abuse. I'm definitely closing in on 400whp. I'm on my 3rd oil change since being turboed and the engine is still healthy and happily taking the boost.

I shouldn't jinx myself but honestly if it was to blow up today I would completely understand, I beat the snot out of it every time I drive it.

With that being said....then I think I shall push the limits of the M20 and see what it can do.

Now I just need to sell my WARCHIP, MAF and injectors and then I believe I will start preparing, planning the Turbo side and start reading/learning MS.
