Gear-based Boost Mapping on Electronic Boost Controllers

I was just reading through this product description and I was wondering if anyone had tried it this sort of thing and had any success.

From my understanding it could help with traction by keeping a constant "low" boost level at low gears instead of getting a lot of boost at high rpms in a low gear and just spinning tires endlessly. But with a lowered CR and a spool time factor, it could be kind of pointless.

    Food for thought I guess...

With the GM ECM's we have hacked them to rely on the speed sensor to control the boost solenoid, MS should be able to do the that. Not quite the same, but it's based on principal inputs/output if you wanted to do the same for an RPM-based EBC.
