If youre lowered you should look at doing an oval pipe. My m42 car scrapes the exhaust everywhere and it is beyond annoying. Ive destroyed a few poorly placed v bands so i ended up junking them and welding it all. When i redo it im going to do oval or maybe dual pipes. but then theres all that weight that will be added

When I had my m42 in this 318 it scraped, when I put the m20 in and re-did the exhaust it scraped.....Just bought Ground control coilovers and plan on going lower so you probably very right on going oval. I could always just weld diamond plate up and down the exhaust and just spark ever where!!

I had a 3" on my turbo car that I'll be reusing when I put the new system on. I'll post pics later. I used misc mandrel bends from eBay....worked great.

Why not make it out of aluminum tubing? Could save a bunch of weight.

I got all of my exhaust stuff from summit (minus the mandrel bends which I sourced on eBay) I built this on jackstands with the mig welder on the other side of building.

                        Here's the downpipe

2.5" --- 3" adapter (bought the 2.5" downpipe and didn't feel like building a new one at the time)

Used lots of sharpie marks, tacked with the mig, test fit, tacked some more.

I used a flex pipe (you NEED one of these) and a glass pack from summit

Here it is, all tacked with the Summit Turbo Muffler at the rear.

                        Test fitting

                        Painted

Here's one of the hangars I made. It worked, but not too well. I will be doing it differently next time around

Don't forget about the bung for the wideband!!

All done, minus the tips. You can kind of see how low the 3" exhaust will be.

Here are some sound clips. Forget the exhaust leak in the first video.... :(

Here's another in car...I did not get on it at all, it was one of the first test drives!

True, im not sure what his setup is, but on mine 3" is about as small as you want to be.

Most people who go through the time/hassle of putting on a turbo kit don't run 5lbs of boost. They make enough power for a 3" to be necessary.
