k03 turbo anyone?

Has anyone ever used a vw k03 or k04 turbo on their e30? i have a k03 turbo lying around and was wondering if it was too small to use on my eta

No turbo is too small if you dont want to make alot of power, you will have instant spool but will not make much over 250hp Id say

too small man. they're even too small for the 1.8Ts that they come off of in my opinion.

edit: I think travish325 is partly right. It depends on your power goals, but I think 250hp is still pushing it for that turbo.

Apr's tune for the 1.8 puts it to 240 and its only 16psi. Thats where I got my number. 250 is doable on a 2.5 with a good tune. Anything beyond that is getting out of the efficiency of that turbo.

remember that a 1.8 vw can actually rev somewhere. an Eta can't. I still think he won't be making a lot of power.

haha yeah, im not looking to get a lot of power out of it, im doing a budget eta turbo, got pretty much everything for it except for the turbo. Someone suggested i use the k03 i had lying around. i was shooting for 200+ maybe 215 hp with good torque. Just something fun to drive here in the mountains, dont really get a chance to get to high speeds around here

Yeah 200 hp is doable but id do a ko4 instead cause you will have a little more room for improvement and Itll be more efficient. You should have decent torque and good mpg as well

I'd use a t28 off zilvia.net. A member here did a successful build with a twin k03 build.
