has anyone delt with that Schneller kit? how is it and how are they to deal with as a company? They have a bunch of interesting sounding stuff on that site but the offer very little info about it.Leave a comment:

So does anyone else know of a bolt on S/C setup for the m20, and what kind of #'s you can get from it?Leave a comment:

that is so far wrong it is not funny, a roots blower creates boost by shiftin air from one side to the other, and as it jams more air into the manifold, pressure(and heat ) increase, they are reasonably godd low and mid range in performance, a twin screw however, draws air in from one end, and compresses it inside the housing along it's length, it is far more thermally efficient, and drives just like your motor is twice the size for the entire rev range, you get full boost anywhere in the rev range as soon as you hit WOT.Lysholm>>>>hEaton. The screw design is much better than the roots. The reason people use roots blowers is because they come on a lot of production cars so they are cheaper to get your hands on. Also they have slightly different characteristics. The roots style gives you a torque curve which is very steep in the lower rpms and then is essentially flat after that. The lysholm style (screw, whipple) is more linear meaning you build more torque as RPMs increase, although no where close to a centrifugal type setup.
The torque onset of the roots makes it pretty hard to launch a car decently and it can really put the car into oversteer in the corner (the rear end passes you). I prefer a lysholm style because the torque onset happens with increasing RPM, which generally means you are moving and the power you are creating is going towards accelrating the vehicle rather than lots of wheel spin and some acceleration. You only need to make as much power as you can put down at that time.
Thats just my perspective though.
have a look in this pic, I have a twin screw going in, it will have front mount intercooler when done (blower is only sitting there for photo, a lot of brackets etc to make first when I get time)
