    formula?

    anyone know the formula for finding displacement for a 6 cyl? i know that a 4 cyl is BORExBORExSTROKEx.0031416 (or PI), but what is it for a 6 cyl?

    displacement = (bore ^ 2) * (stroke) * (pi) * (number of cylinders)

    pi = 3.14

    Keep it slideways!!

      (bore ^ 2) = bore x bore right?

        wrong

        bore is the diameter, you need to divide all that by 4

        make sure your units are in centimeters

            no

            bore = d = diameter of cylinder

            r = d/2

            when squared

            r^2 = d^2/4

            come on people, simple math here

            cross-sectional area of one cylinder*length of stroke*number of cylinders=total volume

              thanks, i actually figured it out for myself. just did BORE X BORE X STROKE X PI....DIVIDED BY 4 TO GET THE DISPLACMENT OF A SINGLE CYL THEN X 6 TO GET THE DISPLACEMENT OF A 6 CYL
