Fork in the road, which way to turbo...?

    I have two:

    Turbonetics Turbos
    T3/T4
    Standard Bearing
    T04E Compressor Housing
    62mm Turbine
    57 Trim Compressor
    .85 AR
    T3 Turbine housing

    Evolution 35mm Wastegates

    Duo 35 BOVs

Do I stick them both on my LSx '71 C/10, or sell half and put the single on my M20B27 (after 885 head swap)?

    Thoughts or opinions?

I know nothing about the LSX, but since this is a BMW forum, I'd say sell half and turbo the M20B27!

My concern is that the turbo is too big and will be peaky as hell. Looks like most people use a T3 turbo with less AR and smaller turbine.

I was specing out turbos and ended up deciding between the T04E and the borg warner S256 for about 300-350whp and both were spot on compressor wise. If you use a tubular manifold the .85 A/R turbine housing would probably spool around 4k rpm.

Hopefully a nicer 350whp turbo would spool before 4k. My Hx35 on a modified eBay manifold spools by 2,500 in 3rd gear and 2,000 in 5th. But yes those are good turbos,l. As far as your build are you wanting 3-400 HP or 6-7? I think that will answer the turbo Lsx vs M20 question

              .84AR housing in a t3 frame isn't that big for m20b27.

That being said, put them on the Chevy. you'll net WAY more power from them on that setup.

I won't wait til 4k to spool. I like torque too much. Perhaps an engine swap is in order instead of turbo.

Also it gets outstanding fuel economy as is. About 30 combined but I'm really easy on it. How bad of a hit did your MPG take when you went turbo?

Then you want to sell the whole works and supercharge. ;D
