Removing my Turbo, Need some advice

I'm willing to bet it was sold un-tuned or the fueling is wrong. Give us a shot of the engine bay.
It won't take more than a weekend as mentioned to remove the stuff.
You should be able to do it literally in a day.
The hardest part is probably the turbo/manifold/downpipe assuming you're able to get a wrench in there. Everything else is just vac lines and clamps.Leave a comment:

Wait what? I hope this is a joke... If serious, then first sit and think why you would do this to yourself? ha, Well, I say take it to a shop that knows these cars and knows turbos.
Let me know if you need all the stock parts. I have them all. Heck, let me do the work... that car can be back to stock in less than a day, and way less than 1k. It would feel better to see its full potential as it is though.... turbo.Leave a comment:

Removing my Turbo, Need some advice
If it's a top mount it wouldn't take more than a weekend to revert it to stock if you have all the parts.
From what you describe it sound like you're getting fuel cut from a bad pump or clogged filter. Could also be spark blow out. Don't drive your car because fuel cut causes a lean condition which will eventually blow your headgasket or worse. I think your problems are unrelated to the turbo. Change your plugs, get a new fuel pump, change fuel filter. Then come back with more questions. Those 3 things can easily be done in a day, just google how to do them.
Someone probably put many hours putting that turbo on. Why undo all that instead of spending a few hours troubleshooting it.Last edited by pandaboo911; 04-15-2015, 11:46 PM.Leave a comment:

Why not leave it turbo and find a competent shop?
Not that I'd ever take my car to a shop but if one told me I had to revert my car to stock before they'd look at it, I'd laugh and walk away.Leave a comment:

I'll take off your turbo and all the components in trade for my labor and putting all the stock stuff back on the engine. PM me if you're interested.Leave a comment:

best idea so far.
OP: Removing turbo is almost as complicated as going turbo. You're going to need to remove the turbo, intercooler, piping, exhaust, ecu, wiring, then put it all back together using the factory airbox, wiring, ecu, and exhaust.
It's going to get real expensive real quick. You should probably either get the car towed to a shop that will work on it, or sell it as-is.Leave a comment:

It chokes out when i start to accelerate and eventually will die out. It wont start anymore, a mechanic suggested that the engine might need to be rebuilt, i took it to JMP but they told me in order to check the engine i would need to remove the turbo, which is something i want to do.
Removing the turbo won't necessarily fix this, and neither would rebuilding the engine.
No start could be any number of things. But an engine needs 3 things to run: fuel, spark, and air. Troubleshooting is a matter of narrowing down the 3.
I'll throw out a simple suggestion, check your fuel pump relay.

Find someone that wants to go boosted and trade for the labor and stock parts to put it all back stock.Leave a comment:

How old are you? Anyways, removing the turbo is a pretty involved process and without seeing the car in front of me, and not knowing your automotive knowledge, you may want it towed to a shop that can work on these cars with turbos....it isn't rocket science, but some shops have that policyLeave a comment:

I want to remove from the entire system. I don't think he's on the forum. I bought from some guy out in Santa Ana.
