    Torque down below?

    Hello to everyone here! :)

I drive a M10 1985 L jet and I ve fitted alpina exhaust headers sometime ago.
The thing is I ve kinda lost torque down bellow 4k rpm!
Anyway to increase it a bit? ;)
Its an 8v with a 7000rpm redline pretending to be a 16v motor!
I ran a 4.27LSD but still its not enough...
I seem to need 5k to go a bit sideways! :p

    N.

PS.Maybe I have to install back the stock airbox on the car?

the headers increase hp and torque up top, but deminish it down low, same with the CAI.

      what?

that depends on the headers. Generally, short, large primaries = high HP, lower torque, where long, smaller primaries = higher torque, lower HP.

also, a CAI won't shift the powerband up at all. If there was a restriction in the intake, and if the CAI was able to alleviate that restriction, the gain in torque/HP would be even across the entire powerband.

But basically, you have an M10. it's never going to make low end torque. If you want to drift and have low end torque, I'd be thinking about an M30.

Please, PLEASE, learn some things about exhaust before you just post things like this.

LOL I never mentioned anything about having monster torque,
but it was adequate to be honest...:p
Anyway,I ll replace the custom CAI with the stock airbox and report back!
I lost 7km/h from my top speed with the CAI.
                  (nothing really but still measurable).
                  Thanks for your answers! :)
