It might smooth things out a little bit with more spark, but don't expect anymore power. My coil was about $50, available at pretty much any Parts Store (Kragens is where I got mine, or O'Reilly, or First Call; Whatever they go by now) For valve adjustments you need feeler gauges for sure, and possibly some other tools. I haven't adjusted mine personally yet, but I have seen it done in an old 2002 briefly. There are some write-ups on how to do it and what's required, but I recommend buying a repair manual.
