    Fuel Pump ?

My in-tank pump is humming pretty good, so time to replace. What are my options here? Pelican has the OEM part for like $175, but I've seen Bosch ones on ebay for $45 that are listed to fit all e30s.

So, what are my options here other than OEM? Will pumps from newer models work or no?

A pump from a later model should work fine. I used a 325i pump and sending unit in my 2002tii, and it dropped right in. A few splices and I was good to go. If it works on a 2002, it should also work in a 318i.

wouldn't putting the HP pump in the tank require changing the LP hoses from the tank to the current HP pump under the rocker panel?

all you do is remove the high pressure pump under the car then replace lines ect with new fuel hose and a high pressure pump in the tank(aka later model pump)

If you're just going to power the m10, just get a 325i or 318i (late) pump. The one buttchug has is probably one of those. Going with the most common aftermarket pumps will require having one of those to modify anyways. Look under where your back seat used to be, you'll see an access plate on the passenger side. The fuel pump is under there. These are super easy, they twist into place. Once you get in there you'll see what's up.

what fuel pressure does the M10 need? if you run a fuel cell, that does not have a intank pump, and you only have the in line external pump. what would you recomend?

I want to say something like 48psi? I can't quite recall though. As for a good inline pump, I can't recommend one as I'm using an OE pump for now. Just make sure your fuel cell has a return port in it.

it's a 3 bar regulator, don't have any recomendations on an external pump.
