Alright I am a noob, but I have an issue and would like to get it fixed before I get into modifying my car. I have a European spec 87 318i. It was running great and now it surges and sometimes has very little power until I get on it, and when I slow down(and I downshift when doing so) the car will intermittently cut out. I am thinking the MAF or Idle Control. Any ideas? also my fan is running constantly...I am thinking relay. Thanks for all of the Help! I look forward to my build and looking at everyone else's beauties.

Either way, double check all your grounds!!! (If it's an m10, the ground on the intake manifold). Also check to make sure your starter reference wire (the small wire going to the starter) is snug. That can cause issues. Also, if it's an m10 (or has 2 fuel pumps), make sure they are up to spec.

Its an M10 that is why I posted in the M10 section. I recently did a tune up and it was running rough but it was running okay. I have gone through all of the vacuum lines the fuel rail pressure and the injectors. All is good, and The spark and plugs are all gapped right and creating plenty of spark. the only way to get it to run properly is adjust the screw on top of the manifold which I am figuring is the fuel air mixture screw. I am new to these cars so I am just doing what my mechanic training has taught me. I am thinking it could be the ICV or the MAF so I am planning on deleting the ICV and doing some more troubleshooting
