Well... have lots of rags handy. I can never manage to get a clean release from the block. It'll run down the side of the motor and on top of the oil pan as soon as you start pulling the filter off.

I use bosch filters, but I can't recall which part number they are.

I use Mann W712/6 which I buy for under $5@ online. I order 1-2 at a shot to round up my order when I'm just short of free shipping and try to keep a small stash on hand. It works out well since it seems I never need anything else when its oil change time and who wants to pay shipping for an oil filter :)

I use the Napa Gold filter. They keep it in stock and is a product of Wix filters which is suppose to be a real good filter and for about 6$ not bad.

i think he wants to know where the filter is located on the engine, not where to find them.

Your best chance would be to get the filter top side. Not a whole bunch of room on the bottom for reach. Pan and the power steering pump will be in your way.

Prefilling filters is a technique used on Diesel motors, otherwise it is not needed. I usually rub a bit of oil on the O-Ring before I install it, always a safe measure.
