the extra money is better spent lightening the flywheel if you ask me. Do you have plans to add a significant amount of power?Comment

not really?
to be honest, i just want the car to be driveable for now untill i swap out the m10 for a m20. but at the same time i might play around a bit with the m10 to get a little bit more out of it. so yeah i will be increasing the horsepowerComment

I think I found it for $340USD about 2 years ago. Look around and you can find it for less than the MSRP of $369.
It's rated for 290ft lbs of torque.'84 318i M10B18 147- Safari Beige

This x1000, you have absolutely no reason to "over clutch" your setup. The oem setup is fine, and as also mentioned your time (and $) would be much better spent lightening the flywheel.
If you want something a little more grabby, just use the pressure plate from an E30 M3 as they are a good %30-ish stiffer. This is what we run on the 2002 full race cars that are pushing a good 160-175ish at the wheels (albeit we do run 6-puck solid hub disks which wouldn't be fun for street use).Comment

thanks
hey thanks alot, but you see my problem is we dont have much e30's here in Guyana, and i currently dont have a brand new oem clutch kit for the m10, well i do but its wise to not reuse old stuff. what i wanted to know is where can i pick up a complete oem kit brand new for the m10, also why i turned to aftermarket kits was that you can easily find them out there........i think lolThis x1000, you have absolutely no reason to "over clutch" your setup. Little known secret-
the E30 M20 pressure plate and friction disc work with the M10.
You DO have to source an earlier 2002 228mm flywheel, though, which might kill it for you.
But then, if you went M20, you already have your clutch.
Sadly, the M10 flywheel is different than the M20- or you could do a whole kit...
tnow, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george gravesComment
